MONTANA NEWS READER FROM COOKEVILLE TN SPEAKS THE TRUTH ABOUT ISRAEL by MNA PRESS
September 5, 2004
Dear Friend,
Our world is fast approaching a crossroads that will bring great blessings to some nations and the possibility of a terrible curse to others. Our blessing is directly tied to what we do with the nation of Israel in a world full of terrorists who would bring harm to any who disagree with them, their religion, their belief system or their opinions. Consider for a moment what the Lord says in Genesis 12:2-3 to Abram, the father of Israel. God said to Abram, “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” 1] This promise given to Abram means the nation of Israel is great, those nations that are friendly to Israel will be blessed by God, and a curse from God will be against any person who moves against Israel.
Rome occupied Israel and prospered until the Roman Emperor Nero ordered Vespasian to crush the Jewish rebellion led by the Zealots in 66 AD. The Jewish uprising ended in 73 AD with the fall of the Israeli fortress city Masada. The Roman Empire continued a relentless and bloody oppression of the Christians and the Jews. Rome began losing her empire to civil war, corrupt practices, a failed economy and the plague which killed 1/3 of the population of Rome’s western provinces. The Roman Empire fell with the loss of all political structure by 476 AD. The Roman Caesars would not bless Israel or the Christians so God took away their place.
Consider the German dictator Hitler who murdered over 6 million Jewish people living inside borders controlled by his armies and what happened to him and his nation. Germany was cut into two partitions with families separated for a generation by a wall.
Consider what happened in the Arab-Israeli war of 1948-49 when the nation of Israel had returned to her own land then occupied by others. The combined armies of Egypt, Tran Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq as well as Palestinian guerrillas) 2] could not defeat Israel. Israel fought this war alone against overwhelming odds and was victorious.
In October 1956 Israel invaded the Sinai Peninsula to regain use of the Suez Canal that had been nationalized and blockaded by Egypt. Israel easily defeated the Egyptians, a nation many times the size of Israel. Britain and France were friends of Israel and helped for just a few days after Israel had nearly finished the action and regained access to the canal.
In the summer of 1967 Egypt, Syria, and Jordan massed their armies around Israel’s borders cutting her off and threatening to destroy her. Israel fired first. In six days she utterly destroyed the combined armies and air forces of all three Arab countries, annexed the Golan Heights, a strategically valuable piece of land and regained control of east Jerusalem, part of the historical capital of Israel.
On October 6, 1973 the combined armies of Egypt and Syria attacked Israel and inflicted massive casualties by catching Israel off guard. The war raged for 20 days with heavy casualties taken by all combatants and ended on October 25, 1973 with Israel the victor. Consider that Syria and Egypt were armed to the teeth by the Soviet Union. Consider what happened to the nations who cursed Israel by attacking her. They were humiliated and defeated with terrible losses. Their economies were severely strained with massive numbers of refugees. However, the President of Egypt realized his nation had everything to gain by making peace with Israel and signed a treaty on March 6, 1979 ending the state of war between the two nations and recognizing Israel’s right to live in peace on her own land. Egypt has been blessed with many years of prosperity since signing the peace treaty.
The Soviet Union never made an effort to recognize Israel and help heal the war wounds. History records the eventual downfall in 1989 of the Soviet empire that spanned the largest piece of real-estate under the control of one government on the face of the planet.
Consider the corrupt and brutal dictator Saddam Hussein who was attempting to develop nuclear capability using a French developed reactor built near Baghdad. Israel destroyed the Osirak nuclear breeder reactor in 1981 with an air strike. Saddam continued to make preparations for war against Israel. He attacked her during the Gulf war of 1991 with Soviet designed and supplied scud missiles. His brutal, bloody and oppressive regime is now history. Saddam Hussein sits in a prison awaiting accountability proceedings in his own country. He is just one more individual who defied the word of God by cursing Israel.
Consider the terrorist Osama Bin Laden who attacked the World Trade Center and destroyed it 9-11-2001. His terrorist gang of rag-tag hooligans is on the run all over the world with operatives of the USA and several of our friends in pursuit. Many of these terrorists are presently detained at Guantanamo Bay awaiting trials. Many Jewish people worked in the Trade Center. The spirit of the Amalekite nation, spared by an act of disobedience of Saul King of Israel (I Samuel 15:9), is still a thorn in Israel. We must continue to deal with this terrorist threat until the Lord sets up His millennium government in Jerusalem (Revelation 20:4) soon.
We in the United States of America have been blessed as no other nation on earth. We have helped the Jewish people prior to and after they moved back to their God given land on the Mediterranean Sea. Pray for our leaders as they deal with the tensions in the Middle East. Let your President know that we need to bless Israel and never pressure Israel to transfer what belongs to her to her enemies.
Sincerely,
Steve Mercer
