COMBINED ATTEMPTED MURDER / SUICIDE SHOOTING IN PLAINS MONTANA EARLY THIS MORNING by MNA PRESS
A combined attempted murder / suicide shooting took place in Plains Montana this morning at approximately 2:15 a.m. The assailant, a male in his thirties, discharged his handgun eight times. Seven of the shots were aimed at the victim, a male in his late twenties, with the eight being turned on himself. According to Plains Police Chief, Shawn Emmett, the assailant was found dead at the scene, but the victim, who was shot an undetermined amount of time was taken to Clark Fork County Hospital. After he was stabilized, a Life Flight team flew him to St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula, where his condition is unknown at this time. Plains Police, together with the Sanders Sheriff's office, are still investigating the shooting and possible motives. Neither man's identity has been released.
